What Happens to Your Income If Uber or Lyft Deactivates You

A deactivation ends the rides the app was sending you, and no tool changes that. What it does not reach is the part of your work that never ran through the app. Your booking page at your handle, the riders who book you directly, your own list of customers and the payments on those rides are administered outside any platform account, so they are still there when one is switched off. This page is plain about the line between the two, and about what SOLODRIVE.PRO does not do.

What a deactivation actually takes

It takes the app's dispatch. For most drivers that is where nearly every ride comes from, so it is the largest single thing lost, and anyone telling you a piece of software replaces it overnight is selling you something.

It usually arrives without a reason you can read. A complaint you never see. A flag you cannot answer. A decision made somewhere you cannot reach, sometimes as a temporary hold and sometimes permanently. The part that hurts first is the same either way: the week you had planned is gone.

SOLODRIVE.PRO does nothing about any of that. We are not an appeal service. We do not contact Uber or Lyft for you, we do not review your case, and we cannot get an account turned back on.

What a deactivation does not reach

Everything you built outside the app is administered outside the app.

  • Your booking page at your handle. It is yours and it stays up.
  • Your booking link and your booking QR code. A rider you have given them to can still reach you.
  • The riders who have already booked you directly.
  • Your customer list, which is a read-only list of the riders who have booked you. It does not sit inside a platform account.
  • The payments on your direct rides, which are captured on your bookings rather than on theirs.

Why the two are separate

Uber and Lyft administer their own accounts. They decide who drives on their app and they can end that under their own terms. That authority stops at the edge of their platform.

Your booking page runs on SOLODRIVE.PRO under your own handle. A rider who books it is booking you, not an app account. Nothing about a deactivation changes it, because it was never theirs to switch off.

The part most drivers do too late

This page is most useful before anything happens.

A booking page you set up today collects riders for months. A booking page you open the week you are deactivated starts at zero, and zero is a bad place to begin a hard month.

Every rider you drive is one sentence away from being a direct one. In the last two minutes of a trip, tell them you take direct bookings and give them the link or show them the QR code. Most will not use it. Some will, and those are the riders who are still there later.

If the reason you have not asked yet is that you are not sure where the line is, read is it legal to take riders off Uber first. It covers what to say, what to avoid, and how to keep the current app ride and a future direct ride clearly separate.

How a direct rider actually books you

A direct rider is only worth something if there is a way for them to book. That is the reservation side.

Riders pick a specific day and time in advance, so the trip is on your calendar before you leave the house. A rider who needs the same trip every week can be set up as a standing booking that repeats without either of you arranging it again.

None of that runs through a dispatch queue. There is no acceptance rate on it, no star rating gate, no status tier, and nothing deciding whether you get offered the trip. It is a booking between you and a person who asked for you by name.

The rides that repeat

The strongest version of this is a rider who rides every week.

When you mark a rider as a regular and they agree and save a card, SOLODRIVE.PRO charges the ride automatically on the schedule you set. You are not asking a person you like for money every week, and you are not hoping an app sends them back to you.

Five regulars riding twice a week is ten trips on the calendar before the week starts. That is not the size of a full platform week and it is not meant to be. It is the part of the week that is yours, booked by people who chose you, and it does not sit inside a platform account.

What SOLODRIVE.PRO does not do

Being exact about this is more useful than a promise.

  • We do not prevent a deactivation.
  • We do not appeal one. We are not an appeal service and we do not advise on appeals.
  • We do not contact Uber or Lyft on your behalf.
  • We cannot get an account reinstated.
  • We do not replace the volume an app was sending you.

What we do is narrower than that. We give you a place to take bookings that is yours, so the riders you have already earned are not stored inside somebody else's account. If that account goes away, this part does not.

HUM covers insurance. SOLODRIVE.PRO does not.

HUM covers insurance through its own TNC. SOLODRIVE.PRO does not, and will not tell you otherwise. What SOLODRIVE.PRO gives you instead is the business itself. Your page, your riders, your Stripe account, your recurring bookings and your numbers. Check your own coverage before you take a direct booking, whichever way you go.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can SOLODRIVE.PRO get my Uber or Lyft account back?

No. We have no relationship with Uber or Lyft and no way to review, appeal or reverse a deactivation. Anything we told you about your account status would be a guess.

If I am deactivated, does my booking page go down?

No. Your booking page runs under your own handle on SOLODRIVE.PRO. It is not connected to your Uber or Lyft account, and a change to that account does not change it.

Do I keep my riders?

The riders who booked you directly are yours, and so is your list of them. A passenger you only ever met on an app trip was introduced by the app, and that introduction was never yours to keep. That is exactly why the ask on the ride matters.

Is it worth setting this up if I have never been deactivated?

That is the best time to do it. A booking page with riders already on it is worth something on a bad week. A booking page you open on the bad week is empty.

Does a direct booking have an acceptance rate or a rating?

No. There is no acceptance rate, no star gate and no status tier on a ride booked directly with you. The rider chose you, and the booking is between the two of you.

Can I take direct bookings while I am still driving for the apps?

Yes. SOLODRIVE.PRO is a direct-booking layer that runs alongside the apps rather than replacing them. You keep driving the app the way you always have and take direct bookings on top of it. Can you drive Uber and take private clients goes through how the two fit together.
